Ukraine to conscript women into military service

Ukraine used to be a republic of the Soviet Union. Former Ukrainian strategists and military officers graduated from the same military academies as Russian soldiers. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, which is now 34 years, most of the senior Ukrainian officers who used to serve in the Soviet Army have retired.
